Minister of Sport Crowns “Aoki Racing Team” Winners of E1 World Championship Season Opener in Jeddah

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, crowned the “Aoki Racing Team” today as champions of the opening round of the 2026 E1 World Electric Powerboat Championship. The winning duo, Spaniard Dani Clos and Jamaican Sara Price, secured the first-place trophy for the inaugural round of the 2026 season.

The ceremony was attended by:

  • HRH Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region.
  • HRH Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalwi, Governor of Jeddah.
  • HSH Prince Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco.

Podium Standings

HRH Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman Al Saud, President of the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation, presented the second-place trophy to Team Brady, represented by Britain’s Sam Coleman and Finland’s Emma Kimiläinen.

The third-place award was presented by Sophie Horne, Founder and Chairwoman of SeaBird Technologies, to Team AlUla, represented by Canada’s Rusty Wyatt and Spain’s Nerea Martí. Additionally, Alejandro Agag, Founder and Chairman of E1, presented the Aoki Team with the Manufacturers’ Trophy.

Current Rankings and Upcoming Rounds

Following the conclusion of the first of eight rounds this season, the overall standings are as follows:

  1. Aoki Racing Team (1st Place)
  2. Team Brady (2nd Place)
  3. Team AlUla (3rd Place)

The championship will continue its global tour, with the second round scheduled to take place at Lake Como, Italy, from April 24–25.

Sustainability and Sporting Excellence

The E1 World Electric Powerboat Championship was held over two days at the Jeddah Corniche. Organized by the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation in cooperation with the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the event was overseen by the Ministry of Sport in partnership with the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The championship aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to support environmental sustainability, promote sporting excellence, and encourage community participation in marine sports, further solidifying the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for hosting premier international sporting events.
