VIRTUS EXCELLENCE SDN BHD (VESB) is a Malaysian start up established on 4 December 2024 with the main purpose of building a Food and Beverage (F&B) Ecosystem which is profitable, scalable and sustainable. The founder of VESB, Mr Ahmad Jeoffrey bin Aladib (Jeoffrey) is a seasoned entrepreneur with 34 years of experience encompassing key areas such as Sales and Marketing, Venture Capital and Private Equity Management, Consulting, Product Development and Manufacturing. His previous employment track record consists of various local and multinational companies in Malaysia, Singapore and the USA. A product of Malaysia’s prestigious Malay College Kuala Kangsar, a boarding school renowned for producing some of Malaysia’s finest leaders, including the current Minister His Excellency Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he had his tertiary education from the University of Minnesota, USA, Majoring in Economics with emphasis in Finance, Mathematics and Statistics.
VESB was born out of Jeoffrey’s own initiative from his previous employment at a Malaysian Government linked company as its Chief Executive Officer. He was tasked with turning around the fortunes of the company whose bottom line weren’t up to expectations despite their affiliation with an International Café Brand with global presence. He nevertheless initiated the turnaround plan and left the group to return to full time entrepreneurship to capitalize on what he sees as emerging opportunities in the F&B sector.
One such opportunity is to form collaborations with several strategic stakeholders to cultivate, grow and harvest crops on government land and employing people who have been incarcerated as farmhands. While it is understandably common for most employers to shy away from hiring ex-convicts for security reasons, it is also human that they are being given a chance to redeem their past lest they go back to their criminal ways as a means of survival. Hence, their involvement in our ecosystem not only provides them, and by extension, their families a new lease of life, indirectly it also reduces the need for Malaysia to depend on cheap foreign labor. Farmwork by most accounts is physically taxing and regimented, two traits which convicts have been instilled and disciplined with during jailtime, and by giving them an opportunity to reenter society with gainful employment which befits their profiles, farm owners and such other related enterprises
would be doing their part to address their social responsibility of providing regular income to this group of marginalized people.
We have actually started doing this by getting raw material supplies cultivated by parolees and converting them into consumer products at a factory which employs convicts in parts of their production process. The said products are Chemor Ginger Tea, Chemor Ginger Rejuvenating Bath Soap and Chemor Ginger Roll On. These products have shown good efficacy in dealing with topical pain, relieving wind and are now being positioned for the wellness market. As such, what we’re embarking on is already in motion and we hope to officially launch the products within the first quarter of 2026.
Concurrent with the above, we are also in the process of acquiring a bakery in Rawang, a town which is 20 minutes’ drive from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. The said bakery is a 30-year-old company which has fallen into financial distress and Jeoffrey’s familiarity with them dates back to the COVID 19 days when he used to be a burger wholesaler who bought burger buns from this said bakery. VESB’s team, which comprises of other individuals with deep operational and management experience has gone in to dissect the business and are planning to launch 5 new products in January 2026 in our effort to boost its sales and return the bakery to profitability before June 2026. Here we have also enlisted the involvement of a single parent for this venture. Single parents are another target group we intend to elevate, and the said single parent, whose home baking pastries had attracted sufficient repeat orders simply justifies her involvement in our bakery venture.
We are also in the process of getting the necessary approvals for 2 F&B locations in the heart of Kuala Lumpur under our own brand name VESBe Oasis and VESBe Kopitiam. Both locations will feature a fusion of ethnically Malaysian food coupled with western favorites such as sous-vide meats and grills at attractive prices targeted specifically for the M40 and lower markets. In both locations, we are allocating space for Muslim reverts and people with special needs to not only prove that they can function just as well alongside their contemporaries but also thrive in spite of their special needs. One of Malaysia’s richest persons was born poor and is wheelchair bound and his rags to riches story serves to inspire us in our journey to empower more of the underprivileged. In line with our mantra of providing opportunities to the underprivileged, we will continuously recruit, coach and employ Muslim reverts, people with special needs and single parents to further cement our commitment to playing our role towards building a more caring society.
The above endeavors come with their own funding requirements to ensure profitability, scalability and sustainability. We are now in urgent need of funding to ensure our plans materialize and our objectives are met. We sincerely hope that this effort of ours is Blessed and we implore those of you with the desire to contribute in our shared success not only here but in the Hereafter to engage with us to know more of our plans and how you can be part of it.
