The Saudi Rowing team has returned from the 2025 Asian Coastal (Beach Sprint) Rowing Championships with a historic achievement, securing four medals in a series of strong competitions held at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, Thailand, from August 6-10, 2025. Thirteen Asian countries, including China, Japan, Korea, the UAE, and Kuwait, participated in the championship. However, the Saudi team proved its mettle, competing fiercely against the continent’s elite athletes. The national team delegation included a distinguished group of athletes: Abdullah Al-Hay, Turki Al-Aref, Haya Al-Mami, Moayad Al-Rashidi, Radaan Al-Dossari, Mofleh Al-Khalidi, Abdullah Al-Mami, and Al-Jazi Al-Ibrahim. They were coached and managed by the technical and administrative staff, led by Matthew Tarrant, Fernando Ferraz, and Humood Al-Shammari.
Medal Harvest
- Silver: Athlete Mofleh Al-Khalidi delivered an outstanding performance in the Junior Men’s Singles (CJM1x) event, deservingly winning the silver medal.
- Bronze: Moayad Al-Rashidi secured the bronze medal in the Men’s Singles (CM1x) race.
- Bronze: The junior duo of Mofleh Al-Khalidi and Abdullah Al-Mami delivered a powerful performance to claim the bronze medal in the Junior Men’s Doubles (CJM2x) race.
- Bronze: The achievements were not limited to the men. The mixed duo of Haya Al-Mami and Turki Al-Aref won the bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles (CMix2x) race.
Administrative Support and Future Aspirations
The team’s participation received continuous support and follow-up from the Vice President of the Saudi Rowing Federation, Sherine Abu Al-Hassan, and the Executive Director, Yousef Jleidan, which had a positive impact on boosting the athletes’ morale.
At the conclusion of the championship, the Saudi Rowing Federation confirmed that this achievement reflects the remarkable development of the sport in the Kingdom. It is considered an important step towards achieving advanced positions in continental and international championships, with a commitment to continue working to prepare a new generation of champions capable of representing the Kingdom on all international stages.
