Female Business Leader Spotlight: Shelley Bosworth

Tell us about Shelley Bosworth Coaching.

Shelley Bosworth Coaching was born from a turning point in my life. After 25 years of climbing the corporate ladder, achieving what many would call “success,” I reached a moment where I knew something had to change. Personal loss, a health scare, and the realisation that life is far too short, had me questioning where I was and where I was going. Having worked with a coach myself, I decided to train and qualify as a personal performance coach and create a coaching business for ambitious women who know they want more but feel like they’re getting in their own way.

My work focuses on helping these women build a courageous mindset, shift the self-doubt, and take action towards a life and business that actually excites them.

I work with ambitious female founders and executives who are ready to stop second-guessing themselves and start owning their next move, whether that’s scaling a business, stepping into leadership, or redesigning life on their terms. I help them find clarity, build confidence, and develop the strategy they need to move forward, and feel good doing it.

It’s not just about strategies and structures, it’s about learning about yourself, about the stories you have taken on and the impact they are having on your life right now – then how to rewrite them as needed.

How did you initially find your passion and turn your passion into your career?

Looking back, I’d been coaching long before I even called it that. In my corporate career, I led large teams across operations and change management, and what I always loved most was developing my people, helping them grow, believe in themselves, and do things they didn’t think they could. I challenged them, supported them, and backed them hard. It came naturally to me. And I was good at it.

Personally, we went through a series of painful family losses, and it made me rethink everything – what success meant, what I wanted from life, and what impact I was really making. I realised the parts of my job that truly lit me up were always about people. Coaching was actually a very natural next step. Working with a coach myself sealed it. I felt a pull I couldn’t ignore. So I made the decision to train and qualify and see where this new path could take me and here I am now

What prompted your move to the UAE in 2023?

My husband and I had always talked about living abroad. It was one of those dreams we kept in the “someday” column. But after losing both of his parents in a short space of time, and with everything the pandemic brought, we stopped putting things off. We asked ourselves: If not now, when?

We knew we wanted more freedom, more sun, and more opportunity. Dubai ticked every box, lifestyle, travel, business potential, and a smart move for our financial goals too. It gave us the space to try something new while staying connected globally. Therefore, when an opportunity arose for my husband to join a business here, having already pivoted my business fully online in the pandemic, we decided to go for it.

And we love it here now. The bigger dream is that one day, we’ll be living in Italy. It’s always been the long-term vision. But for now, we’re soaking up everything this new chapter has to offer, and it’s been incredible, both personally and professionally.

What is your mission?

My mission is to help ambitious women stop holding themselves back and start owning what they really want, from their business, their career, and their life. I want women to feel brave enough to say, “I want more,” and to go after it without apology. That starts with mindset, because the biggest thing in most women’s way isn’t skill or strategy, it’s self-doubt. My work is about changing the way they see themselves, helping them take courageous action, and showing them that it’s not only possible to create the success they want, it’s theirs for the taking

How do you help female business leaders?

I work with founders, business owners and senior professionals who are driven and capable, but stuck in their heads. They overthink, they second-guess, and they hold back from going all in. That’s where I come in. Through a mix of mindset coaching and practical business support, I help them cut through the noise, make clear decisions, and take action. I help them stop being the bottleneck in their business or career and start leading with clarity and confidence. It’s never just about strategy or mindset alone. It’s about combining both in a way that fits them, their goals, and the life they’re trying to build.

What is the biggest challenge that female business leaders are facing right now?

Honestly? It’s the pressure to have it all together, perfect business / career, perfect family, perfect everything. So many women I work with are successful on paper but feel like they’re falling short. They’re battling imposter syndrome, juggling unrealistic expectations, and putting themselves last. And because they’re high-achievers, they often think they should just be able to figure it out on their own.

That constant pressure, mixed with lack of real support, creates burnout and holds them back from stepping into the leadership and freedom they actually want. That’s why mindset matters. Because when you shift how you think, you shift how you show up. And everything changes from there.

How has your corporate background given you a unique advantage?

I spent 25 years in the corporate world, leading big teams, managing complex change, and navigating the pressure of high-level performance targets. I’ve been in the boardrooms, on the shop floors, and everywhere in between, and I know first-hand what it’s like to carry a lot of responsibility and still feel like you’re figuring it out as you go.

But more than anything, my strength was always in developing people. I didn’t just manage, I coached before I even realised that’s what I was doing. Supporting, stretching, and challenging my teams to be better was the part of the job I loved the most. That background gives me a strong commercial lens and a deep understanding of how women operate in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. It means I can coach clients through real-world challenges with practical insight, not just theory. Whether you’re scaling a business, leading a team, or managing a transition, I’ve been there, and I bring that experience into every session.

What services do you provide?

1:1 Coaching, International Business Retreats, and my global on line community The She Is Courageous Collective – where mindset meets action for ambitious women in business.

What is your most in demand coaching service right now?

1:1 coaching is always in demand, because it’s deeply personal, results-focused, and creates real transformation. But it’s also the biggest investment, and rightly so. I only take on a small number of 1:1 clients at a time so I can give them my full focus. When you work with me this way, we go all in, on mindset, strategy, and everything in between.

That said, I knew there needed to be another way for ambitious women to access high-level support without the 1:1 price tag or intensity. That’s why I created The She Is Courageous Collective, a powerful community for founders and professionals who are ready to grow, get out of their own way, and stop doing business alone.

Can you share a case study of a successful client project?

I’m currently working with a brilliant founder who came to me knowing exactly what she should be doing to grow her business—but she wasn’t doing it. Like many high-achieving women, she was stuck in a loop: avoiding action, then beating herself up for it, which just made things worse.

Over the past few months, we’ve worked together to uncover what was really behind the inaction. It wasn’t a lack of strategy—it was fear. Fear of judgment, fear of failure, even fear of success. Once we got honest about what was really going on, everything started to shift. We’ve focused on small, practical steps—building trust in herself, taking action even when it feels uncomfortable, and learning that success doesn’t come from getting it perfect, but from showing up consistently.

Now? She’s more confident. She’s taking bolder action. She’s showing up with conviction, and her audience is noticing. Engagement’s up, her results are building—and most importantly, she’s not stuck anymore.

What results can female business leaders expect from working with you?

Clarity, confidence, and the courage to actually take action. Women come to me when they know they want more, but something’s getting in the way. Together, we get honest about what’s holding them back, get clear on what they really want, and create the mindset and strategy to move forward.

They leave our work feeling more focused, more decisive, and more confident in backing themselves, whether that’s raising their prices, changing direction, launching something new, or leading differently. It’s not about perfect results. Sometimes they win, sometimes they learn, but they’re always moving forward, and that’s what really matters.

What are your goals for the next 5 years?

My focus is on growing and scaling the business in a way that allows me to have deeper impact with more women, particularly through The She Is Courageous Collective and keynote speaking. I want to reach more female founders and leaders who are ready to stop holding back and start showing up fully, both in business and in life. Personally, I want to travel more, make the most of every moment we have in Dubai, and continue building the foundations for our long-term dream, creating a life in Italy for the next chapter.
