Carzaty Appoints General Manager in the UAE

Having launched its UAE operations in 2020, Carzaty; the region’s pioneering online used-car platform, has appointed Sarah Kenny as their General Manager. With over three decades of automotive experience under her belt, Sarah will spearhead the next phase of Carzaty’s expansion in the UAE.

Prior to joining Carzaty, Sarah was the Regional Manager at the Middle East HQ’s of both Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Having developed her Middle East specific leadership credentials within the UAE’s male-dominated automotive sector, Sarah has firmly established herself as a power player with the expertise and technical-nous necessary to deliver growth in what is a hyper-competitive used-car segment.

With its mission to build a trustworthy used-car brand, Carzaty recruited Sarah to integrate her deep understanding as well as best-in-class experience to fuel Carzaty’s upcoming growth plans.

Her appointment underlines the leadership team’s intention to build a brand simultaneously progressive, egalitarian and results-oriented in the manner in which it delivers service-excellence.

More than anything, however, Sarah’s recruitment is geared towards further enabling Carzaty’s ongoing disruption of a static used-car segment; one replete with untrustworthy intermediaries, time-consuming sales and purchase processes.

Marwan Chaar, Co-Founder at Carzaty said, “At Carzaty, our aim has always been to contribute towards evolving the used-car industry by delivering an experience with the client at the heart of our operations. By bringing in someone as accomplished as Sarah, we aim to build upon our existing culture by becoming a beacon to other women (and men) who share our values and relate to our mission. We are certainly excited about our growth prospects and hope to build a team that can deliver upon our goals”

Sarah Kenny, GM at Carzaty UAE said, “After 30 years in this industry, It’s safe to say that I have worked at every level of the automotive chain. Having first moved to the UAE in 2013, the workplace here was starkly different from the UK. It’s true that the market has progressed positively in recent years, but Carzaty offers exponential potential to advance the region’s industry. Carzaty’s values and objectives are exactly the kind of approach this market has been waiting for. This is a truly unique growth-focused business that I cannot wait to propel to new heights. As one of the few female leaders in the industry, one of my priorities is also to open up opportunities for women both with ourselves as well as across the broader automotive segment. In doing so, I intend to break the stereotype of this industry as being a male-dominated marketplace in the same way that Carzaty aims to break the stereotype of a ‘user-car salesman’!”
