GoDaddy empowers Saudi entrepreneurs with two training workshops

GoDaddy, the company that helps entrepreneurs thrive, conducted two training workshops to teach entrepreneurs how to try and sell more and increase online sales in preparation for the important Ramadan and Eid seasons.

The two-day training workshops covered how to identify e-commerce opportunities, how to build an e-commerce store to start selling online, and tips and advice to help entrepreneurs sell during the month of Ramadan and subsequent Eid Al Fitr holiday season.

A recent GoDaddy’s MENA Small Business Survey showed over 50% of small businesses in the Kingdom realize over 20% of their revenue through e-commerce. The top digital tools used in the Kingdom were reported to be social media channels such as Instagram and Facebook, as well as their own business websites.

The recent training sessions form part of GoDaddy’s ongoing training programs in KSA and the region. The company launched its educational campaign with two educational workshops for entrepreneurs and small business owners around the importance of having online presence for their idea or business during the Biban 23 Forum, Saudi Arabia’s largest SME and entrepreneurship gathering held in the capital Riyadh.

Attendees learned how to: plan and structure a website, draft SEO-optimized content, plan an effective digital and social media marketing strategy and covered the  advice for effective website design. Also shared at the workshops is a a step-by-step guide to GoDaddy’s Arabic Website Builder and E-Store.

By the end of the workshops, attendees understood the basics of creating and managing a website from start to finish. They were also able to identify the  e-commerce and sales strategies to promote their businesses, and how best to reach their customers online depending on their field or industry. The workshops also covered technical aspects such as buying a domain name and a professional email address, and what makes a website successful and stand out from the competition.

Selina Bieber, Commercial Strategy Senior Director, International Markets, GoDaddy said “In this day and age, being easily found online is a given. The workshops we are conducting in the Kingdom cover important elements of starting and maintaining a website, helping set entrepreneurs up for success. At GoDaddy, we help entrepreneurs thrive with our selection of tools and resources. Building and maintaining a successful website is an ongoing journey and we work to ensure that we are supporting and empowering Saudi entrepreneurs along every step of the way.”

In addition to the workshops, GoDaddy is partnering with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at) in KSA to empower and inspire Saudi SMEs and young entrepreneurs to take their business online.
