Techne announces 8 startup winners & launches Corporate Innovation Program

Techne Summit 2021 has officially come to an end. The three day event that is supported and attended by HE. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt attracted more than 21,600 attendees, 800 early stage startups, 180 exhibitors and more than 300 speakers in a hybrid event that concluded with the launch of the Techne Corporate Innovation Program with $40,000 dollars in awards across 4 main tracks. The program was launched amid an impressive wide range of Tech Startups, investors and corporates, and aims to help corporates solve the most pressing challenges of their industries by matching them with early stage startups’ innovative ventures.

As agile startups thrive with the latest technology, corporates must adjust their business models, and find new ways to innovate internally and externally by working with Startups’’

The program is supported by The Rowad 2030 Project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, HIVOS, Novartis, Inertia Egypt and EdVentures, 

The 3 day event featured a wide variety of panels, workshops, fireside chats, 5 competitions, alongside a corporate & startup exhibition that hosted more than 180 companies. The first annual Meet & Greet sessions were a highlight that included figures such as Mohamed Hossam Khedr, Hesham Afifi and Ameer Sherif with hundreds of fans at the get go ready to have a chit chat with their idol of choice.

Delegates had great networking opportunities and very insightful panel discussions that left attendees intrigued, energized and prepped for the future. With more than 80 esteeming and fiery discussions across 11 different industries(tracks), topics included; “The Rise of Digital Wallets”, “How Investments are Shaping the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem on the Mediterranean”, “The New Exit Math”, “New Strategies of Pricing”, “Design Evolution: Before and After Social Media”, “How Big Data Analytics Models Can Impact Healthcare Decision-Making” and many more. While hundreds of speakers have joined more than 80 panel discussions in-person and virtually, many others also conducted 1 hour workshops. Some of the speaker highlights included Jack Knellinger of Capria Ventures, Dave Parker of Trajectory Media, Hany Saad the prominent Egyptian architect and interior designer, Amr Mahfouz CEO of ITIDA, Jakob Mejlhede CCO Shahid – MBC, Dina Gabra of Novartis Pharma, Omar Almajdouie of RAED Ventures, Heba Ali of Endeavor Egypt, Mohamed Sweilam General Manager of Roche Egypt and many more.

Our trailblazer and distinguished guest, the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat had also participated in a Fireside chat alongside top tier content creators and entrepreneurs from all over the Mediterranean.

Techne Summit’s closing featured various MOU signings, remarks from Techne’s co-founders & Techne Summit Dubrovnik Director.  “You will go nowhere without your team, the real assets are the people. Invest in your team” said Mohamed El Dallal, Techne Summit Cofounder and newly appointed CEO of Techne, while addressing all young entrepreneurs at the closing ceremony.

And most importantly the announcement of the competition winners; Turbo One, Nabatac, Media Sci, Yaskoon who won the Nilepreneurs pitch competition, 07 Therapy winner of the Healthtech competition by the Embassy of Sweden.  Teachiy and Eimdad winners of TIEC competition. And finally Just Pack, winner of the Startup World Cup by Pegasus Ventures competition.
