Founder Spotlight: Sergey Gorelov, Appfyl

Tell us about Appfyl

Appfyl is a mobile app development studio that helps launch iOS and Android apps turnkey: fast, with high quality, and with a strong focus on real business results. We work with clients through the entire journey, from idea and product strategy to design, development, testing, and final publication in the App Store and Google Play.

The market moves very quickly today, and in many cases the winner is not the company with the “most perfect” idea, but the one that turns that idea into a working product faster, gets it to market, and starts collecting real user feedback. That is exactly what the Appfyl approach is built around. We help clients do more than simply “build an app.” We help them launch a product they can test, grow, and scale.

Over the years, we have built strong hands-on expertise in mobile apps for startups, digital businesses, educational products, subscription platforms, content services, and other modern product categories. Our portfolio includes more than 100 successful projects, and for us that is not just a number. It reflects trust from clients and proves that we know how to turn ideas into results.

What is Appfyl’s mission?

Our mission is to help entrepreneurs and companies launch profitable, high-quality, competitive mobile products without unnecessary complexity and without losing time.

For many businesses, app development still feels heavy, slow, and unclear. Our job is to make that journey structured and manageable. We take care of the technical and product side of the process so clients can stay focused on business, strategy, marketing, and growth.

Put simply, our mission is to turn ideas into finished mobile products quickly, reliably, and end to end.

What was the catalyst behind founding Appfyl?

The idea behind Appfyl came from a very simple observation: the market often offers either development that is too slow or development that is not good enough. Companies are frequently forced to choose between speed and quality. I wanted to build a studio where those two things do not contradict each other.

From the very beginning, I saw strong demand from startups and growing companies for a team that could do more than just write code. They needed a partner who could deeply engage with the task, understand the product, suggest solutions, and take responsibility for the full cycle. That is how Appfyl was born: as a full-cycle studio focused on fast launches and long-term value for the client.

Another important factor was my interest in working closer to the entrepreneurial mindset. I have always been more interested in building products that people actually use, that grow, and that generate revenue, not just shipping isolated features. That is why Appfyl was built as a business partner, not just a development contractor.

Who do you work with?

We primarily work with startups, founders, and companies that want to test hypotheses quickly, go to market fast, and start seeing results. We also work with established businesses that want to strengthen their digital direction, launch a new mobile channel, or improve an existing product.

We are especially aligned with clients who value speed of decision-making, flexibility, and a practical mindset. Very often, teams come to us with a strong idea and a solid understanding of their market, but without the internal resources to build a polished mobile product quickly. In those cases, we become a true technology partner for them.

In what industries do you operate?

We are not limited to one niche, but we most often work with modern digital products where launch speed, strong user experience, and scalability matter most. These include SaaS products, marketplaces, subscription-based services, educational apps, content platforms, lifestyle and creator-oriented apps, as well as various B2C and B2B solutions.

That breadth of experience allows us to transfer best practices from one industry to another and find solutions that work not only technically, but from a business perspective too.

How does your process work?

One of our core principles is full-cycle turnkey development. A project usually begins with the idea itself, a discussion of the business goals, and defining the scope of the MVP or first product version. From there, we move into product logic, UX/UI design, development, testing, and final publication.

On average, our projects take around 1.5 to 2 months when we are launching a focused product or MVP. At the same time, we care deeply about quality: every stage includes manual testing, and we only move forward after internal review and alignment.

We structure the process so the client clearly understands what stage the project is at, what has already been completed, and what comes next. For us, it is not enough to move fast. We want to move fast in a structured and predictable way.

From a technical perspective, we build apps that are ready for growth from day one. We design the architecture so the product can scale smoothly, including under serious user load. We have already worked on solutions designed for large audiences, and we understand how to build mobile products with that future in mind.

Do you offer post-launch support?

Yes, absolutely. We see launch not as the finish line, but as the beginning of the next phase. Once the app is published, the product starts receiving its first real users, first data, and first feedback, and that is exactly when fast improvement becomes especially important.

We continue supporting clients after release by helping with bug fixes, updates, feature improvements, analytics, and product growth. As a rule, we also provide a post-publication warranty period so the client feels confident during the first stage after launch.

What makes Appfyl unique in the marketplace?

What makes us unique is the combination of speed, quality, and deep product involvement. We do not simply build an app from a technical brief. We think like business partners and aim to offer solutions that truly support the client’s goals.

If I had to define our USP, it would be fast, high-quality turnkey development. We can take a project from the earliest stage, sometimes literally from an idea in someone’s notes, and bring it all the way to a finished app in the stores. That is especially valuable for clients because they do not need to assemble separate teams for design, development, testing, publishing, and support.

Another important point is flexibility. We know how to adapt to the client’s stage of business. In some cases, what is needed is a fast MVP to test a hypothesis. In others, it is a more mature product built for serious scale with a stronger architecture behind it. We understand both scenarios and know how to deliver in both.

Can you share an example or case studies?

Yes, of course. Overall, our portfolio includes more than 100 successful projects, and for us that is one of the strongest indicators of consistency and experience.

If we talk about concrete examples, one strong case is CakeSchool, an app for an online pastry and confectionery school. Users can subscribe or buy lifetime access to courses, go through lessons, complete homework, and receive feedback. It is a great example of how a mobile app can become a full educational ecosystem rather than just an add-on to the main product.

Another standout case is AB.Money. This is a richer content product that combines meditations, daily practices, video lessons, live broadcasts, affirmations, tarot cards, stories, networking, and chat. What makes it especially strong is not only the product depth, but also the market result: the app reached the top of the Education category in the App Store.

We also have more operational products, such as My Cake, a CRM app for confectioners. It helps users create orders, calculate costs, track income, manage an order calendar, maintain a client list, and keep a goals list. I like cases like this because they show the practical side of mobile development very clearly: the app becomes a real working tool that simplifies business processes every day.

Another example is Padi Pay, a crypto wallet app for African markets. In products like this, reliability, fast transactions, and seamless work with financial services matter a great deal. For us, it is a strong example of the fact that we work not only with educational and content products, but also with more sensitive fintech scenarios where trust in the product is critical.

Overall, our case studies cover very different types of apps, but they all have one thing in common: we aim to build not just attractive interfaces, but products that solve real user problems and help businesses grow.

How are you planning to keep building Appfyl?

Right now, we are continuing to strengthen Appfyl in two directions. The first is growth as a technology partner for startups and fast-growing companies. We are interested in working with ambitious teams that are building modern products and are ready to move quickly.

The second direction is the development of our internal processes, expertise, and product mindset. We are constantly improving the way we design apps, accelerate delivery without losing quality, and make collaboration with clients even more transparent and comfortable.

We also pay close attention to how the market is changing: the growing role of AI, increasing user expectations for mobile experiences, and the acceleration of launch and testing cycles. All of that directly shapes what successful digital products will look like in the years ahead.

What do you see as the future of the industry?

I believe the industry is moving toward even faster product launches, deeper automation, and stronger AI integration into both user experience and internal company processes.

The barrier to building digital products is getting lower, but expectations around quality and usability are rising. That means the winners will be teams that can combine execution speed with strong product thinking and a reliable technical foundation.

Appfyl wants to stay at the forefront of that movement. Even today, we are building processes that allow us to launch products quickly without sacrificing quality. In the future, that capability will matter even more.

What is your vision for the next decade?

In the long term, I see Appfyl as one of the strong partner studios for entrepreneurs and companies that want to build world-class mobile products quickly.

We want to keep expanding our portfolio of successful launches, strengthen our international presence, and work on projects that are capable of scaling in a big way. At the same time, it is important for us to preserve what has been at the core of the company from the start: attention to quality, speed, accountability, and the ability to take ownership of the entire journey from idea to finished product.
