Tell us about yourself and your background.

I lead the Business Development team here at Perfect Corp, which means I oversee forging partnerships and driving growth for our company. My team is responsible for multiple functions, including: Business Development, Business Unit Management and Business Analytics.

My passion lies in helping beauty and fashion brands leverage the incredible potential of AI and AR technologies. I love that my position at Perfect Corp. allows me to contribute in multiple disciplines which constantly challenge and improve my limits.

What has been your biggest achievement since joining Perfect Corp?

I’m proud of many things I’ve achieved at Perfect Corp., but a highlight for me has to be seeing our technology adopted by so many major global brands and thus helping the consumer make better purchase decisions and unlocking the full potential of eCommerce. It has demonstrated the power of what we were doing and its potential to transform industries on a massive scale.

What are your current goals as Vice President and Head of Business Development at Perfect Corp?

As VP of Business Development, my days are filled with helping my brand partners solve their pain points with AI.  Sure, expanding Perfect Corp.’s reach is a priority, but it’s more than just numbers on a map. I’m looking to build alliances, strong bonds with companies who share our vision of a personalized, tech-driven shopping experience. I envision continuing to join forces with major retailers and social media platforms to reach new customers and offer innovative experiences.

But the journey doesn’t stop there. The world is a vast canvas, and there are beauty, fashion, skincare and tech enthusiasts everywhere waiting to discover the magic of Beautiful AI. My team and I are on a mission to explore new markets and bring our incredible tools to shoppers everywhere.

How has AI revolutionized the beauty industry?

AI has woven itself into the very fabric of the beauty industry, transforming the way we discover, choose, and use products. Gone are the days of relying on guesswork or impulse buys. Today, AI analyzes our facial attributes and skin concerns with impressive accuracy, recommending personalized product regimens that target our specific needs or best suit our personal characteristics. This level of personalization is what today’s beauty consumers crave, and AI is at the forefront of delivering it.

What are the current trends in the beauty tech industry in the UAE?

The UAE is a region known for embracing cutting-edge technologies, and the beauty sector is no exception. There’s a growing appetite for experiences that cater to the individual, and beauty tech is perfectly positioned to satisfy this demand. Customers in the country can increasingly virtually try on makeup shades, experiment with different hairstyles, and see how skincare products might transform their complexions – all from the comfort of their homes or in stores.

These interactive experiences make shopping for beauty products more engaging and informative, ultimately leading to more satisfied customers. The UAE’s embrace of beauty tech positions it as a trendsetter in the region, paving the way for a future where technology and beauty seamlessly blend to create a truly personalized experience.

How do you see the beauty tech industry advancing in the next 3 years?

The next few years are going to be exciting! I see the industry moving towards even more hyper-personalization, with AI playing a key role in product development and recommendation. We can also expect to see the lines blur between the physical and digital worlds, with AR and Generative AI becoming even more integrated into the beauty shopping experience.
